October: Mummy Krispies

Please gather:

  • 4 oz Elmer’s School Glue
  • Marshmallow Treat Scent
  • 8 oz jar with blank side label
  • 4 oz jar of white foam beads
  • Mummy charm pack
  • Lotion (Any kind)
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spoon or Spatula
  • Teaspoon measuring spoon
  • Activator (Video included)

Step 1: Grab a mixing bowl, spoon or spatula, a teaspoon measuring spoon, lotion, and the provided activator.

Step 2: Empty the whole bottle of glue into your bowl.

Step 3: (Optional) Add 2-3 drops of scent.

Step 4: Add 1 tablespoon of lotion.

Step 5: Stir together. Give it a good 30+ seconds of mixing before moving on to the next step.

Step 6: Add 2 teaspoons of activator.

Step 7: Mix THOROUGHLY! It may take a few minutes to do this properly. You want to mix until most of the clumps are gone and it is not too stringy.

Step 8: Stick 1 finger into the slime. If it is liquidy then it is not ready. Add another 1/2 teaspoon of activator to your slime and mix. If the slime feels slightly sticky, but is not liquidy, it is ready. You can take it out of the bowl and continue massaging it, pulling it, and stretching it to fully mix in all activator strands and remove any clumps.

Step 9: Now your slime is ready for the beads! It should still be slightly sticky to make sure the
beads stick to the slime with minimal to no fall out.

Step 10: Add the whole jar of foam beads into your slime.

Step 11: Use your hands to thoroughly mix the beads into your slime. It may still be a little sticky. This will help the foam beads stick to your slime better.

Step 12: Press your finger into the slime and then try to remove it. If the slime does not easily pull away from your finger, it is too sticky. Move on to step 13. If it does easily pull away from your finger, the slime is ready! Move on to step 14.

Step 13: If your slime sticks to you, add another 1/2 teaspoon of activator and knead in thoroughly. You can also dip your hands in some activator and knead the slime to make it less sticky too.

Step 14: Decorate to your heart's content. Add the mummy themed charms into your slime!

Step 15: Move on to making the clay topper.

Clay Topper (Mummy Eyes)

Please gather:

  • 1 oz jar of white clay
  • 1 oz jar of black clay
  • 4 oz jar + lid

Step 1: Take two pea-sized pieces of white clay. These will be the base of your eyes. If you want the eyes to be bigger or smaller, take more or less clay. It’s up to you!

Step 2: Roll each of the two pieces of white clay into a smooth ball.

Step 3: Using your finger, gently press down evenly on one of the white clay balls and flatten it to a disc. The more you press down the wider and thinner your disc will be. Make them as big or as small as your heart desires!

Step 4: Repeat step 3 using the second white clay ball.

Step 5: Set the 2 flattened white clay discs to the side for now. Place the 4 oz jar upside down over these 2 pieces to prevent them from drying.

Step 6: Take two pieces of black clay. These will be the inside of your eyes. Each piece should be about half the size of the white clay piece you took earlier.

Step 7: Roll each of the two pieces of black clay into a smooth ball.

Step 8: Using your finger, gently press down evenly on one of the black clay balls and flatten it to a disc. It should be about half the size of the white disc you flattened earlier.

Step 9: Repeat step 8 using the second black clay ball

Step 10: Take one of the black clay discs, and carefully place it on top of one of the white clay discs, directly in the center.

Step 11: Repeat step 10 with the remaining black and white clay discs.

Step 12: Now you have your mummy eyes! To store them, place them flat inside the 4 oz jar, side by side but not touching, and tightly screw the lid shut.

Step 13: Mix your clay eyes into the slime to create a new texture, or store separately and enjoy them on their own!

Enjoy!
