What if I get slime all over my clothes and me?

It comes out with white vinegar and water, so don’t worry! Use the white vinegar generously.

What age is this appropriate for?

Slime appeals to all ages, even adults. If your child is between the ages of 2-5, please make sure you supervise your child. We don’t want children to eat slime (or their slimy hands), run through the space or throw slime so please watch them carefully. It is important to ensure everyone is wiping their hands (we provide wipes) before and after all slimes. As a side, we’re doing special programming for 21+ from time to time.

Is your slime gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free?

There is no gluten, dairy, and nuts in our slime and slime scents (even the slime scents that are nut-oriented; those scents have synthetic notes that conjure a scent of nuts). Sloomoo Falls includes a slime that is made with an ingredient that is manufactured in a facility where there are nuts packaged too, so if you have super sensitive or airborne allergies, you may want to avoid the Enhanced Experience.

Is your slime safe?

The amount of borax in each slime is very minimal - it is about 1/16th of a tsp for every 6-ounce slime. Borax is in contact lens solution, which goes in your eyes, and that solution is often used to activate slime. Even if slime does not contain borax, it should NOT be ingested or handled with any open cuts or sores.

What is Borax?

Borax, technically a mineral, is a component of many detergents, cosmetics, and enamel glazes and was first discovered in dry lad beds in Tibet in the 8th Century AD. In slime, it “activates” the molecules of the glue, which then stick to each other, not you, when mixed with water.

What do I do when slime is sticky or melted?

It is very easy to care for slime and bring it back to life if it feels sticky or melts over time (all hand-made slime will react this way). Use an activator, which we have in our shop. Mix a little bit at a time into your slime thoroughly and it will revert back to its satisfying state. The stickier it is, the more you may need. Do not dump it all in at once - it may over-activate, which makes the slime hard or stiff. See below for how to handle that.

What do I do when slime is hard or stiff?

This happens to slime when it is used a lot or not placed in an airtight container. You can fix it by adding a little bit of lotion or glycerin to your slime, which will soften it back up. You can also try running slime under very hot water (adults, please supervise children if you do this). Heat breaks the molecules back down so it becomes more like slime again.

What do I do if my slime needs to be saved as a gift?

Some slimes have shorter shelf lives than others (clear and thick and glossy tend to melt the fastest). It is best to store all slimes in a cool place. Cloud and Cloud Dough have the longest shelf life, followed by Butter. It is hard to give an exact time line for slime shelf life as the conditions in which it is saved (temperature) impact the compound (heat will create a melting effect).
