Week 1- Under the Sea

The first week of Sloomoo After School will take us Under the Sea! You will make a stretchy Jelly Slime and then transform it to a squishy Jelly Cube. Our craft is equally magical -  creating original stained glass that looks like it flows like the sea! Everyone will share their new artwork the following week during show and tell.

ZOOMING 411:

  • Make sure your full name is displayed
  • Have all your supplies ready and near you (one of the bags are for “all weeks,” so please make sure you have that along with Week 1)
  • Try to get on the Zoom 5 minutes early
  • Raise your hand for questions (if it’s dire when we teach) but we prefer to have write us the chat box so we don’t lose too much time
  • Have your activators made and ready to go (a how to video is below in the next section)
  • HAVE FUN

Slime of The Week:

Learn how to make jelly slime, which is a beautiful texture that’s stretchy, inflatable and perfect for slime pops, pokes and sizzles. We will then take things up a notch to turn them into jelly cube slimes! Our Kitchen and Experience Director, Sasha of @someotherslime, will be sharing the recipe we use and demonstrating it, step by step, so you can become a jelly cube expert.

Craft of the Week:

For our craft this week we will be creating original stained glass that looks like it flows like the sea! We have provided all the materials for this craft, but make sure to have newspaper or a placemat on hand to cover your table. We can't wait to create these masterpieces with everyone!

Provided Materials:

  • Glitter Glue
  • Paint Brush
  • Liquid Watercolor
  • Picture Frame

Need to Gather:

  • Newspaper or placemat to use underneath frame

Stained Glass Painting Instructions:

  1. Take off the back of your provided picture frame and position it on newspaper or a placemat

  2. Add glitter glue to your glass to create your picture

  3. Add drops of liquid watercolor with your paintbrush if desired

  4. Let the painting dry for at least 24 hours and bring to show and tell next week!

Sounds of Sloomoo:

We’ll also be playing our theme song and discussing ASMR. Below is a link to both - the ASMR is the same track we have in our space, where you can listen with ear phones while you play with slime. You’re the only people we’ve ever sent this to!!!
