Week 6- Camp

There is no better theme for our final week than CAMP! This week, you will make bingsu bead slimes which are a) the biggest trend in the slime community and b) the crunchiest of all the textures for the best sound ASMR. For our last craft, you will be making DIY Clay pieces that you can then crack (#claycracking is the other huge trend in the slime and ASMR communities). Crunch with you soon!

**Please note that we have changed the Zoom platform to be a Zoom webinar for the remaining weeks. You have received a new ID and PW to log on via email.**

  • Make sure your full name is displayed
  • Have all your supplies ready and near you (one of the bags are for “all weeks,” so please make sure you have that along with Week 1)
  • Try to get on the Zoom 5 minutes early
  • Please stay on mute during class
  • Raise your hand for questions (if it’s dire when we teach) but we prefer to have write us the chat box so we don’t lose too much time
  • Have your activator made and ready to go (a how to video is below in the next section)

Slime of The Week:

Bingsu beads have been the biggest trend in slime over the six months. The iridescent bead, which has the chic feeling of a fashion accessory, makes for the ultimate in slime crackles and crunches. It’s textured and holdable as well as beautiful to look at it. Camp Counselor Sasha (a.k.a. @someotherslime), will give you a full-proof how to guide to this cool slime. Get ready for major ASMR!

Craft of the Week:

For our last craft, you will be making DIY Clay pieces that you can then crack (#claycracking is the other huge trend in the slime and ASMR communities). We will use our air dry clay to make any clay piece you can imagine. We will then paint our pieces with clear nail polish to make a crunchy top layer. Your homework will be to finish the nail polish layering process and make an ASMR clay cracking video to share with us!

Provided Materials:

  • Liquid Watercolor Packet
  • Air Dry Clay
  • Sharpie pen
  • Container Lid

Need to Gather:

  • 1 Bottle of Clear Nail Polish

Clay Cracking Instructions:

  1. Take your clay piece and rest it on a container lid. The clay of the piece must still be fresh in order to crack correctly. The ideal amount of clay for clay cracking is around the size of a ping pong ball
  2. Paint all areas of the clay piece that you can see with a thin coat of clear nail polish
  3. Let this layer completely dry (approx. 10 min)
  4. Flip the piece over and paint any areas that have not yet been painted
  5. Let this layer completely dry (approx. 10 min)
  6. Repeat this until your piece has three total layers of clear nail polish
  7. Let your piece dry for at least 3 hours
  8. Crack your clay piece! The ideal time frame to crack the piece is 5 hours after your last layer dried. Make sure to crack the piece no later than 24 hours after you began the process
  9. We would love to see any clay cracking videos you make. Feel free to send them to us!

Sounds of Sloomoo:

We’ll also be playing our theme song and discussing ASMR. Below is a link to both - the ASMR is the same track we have in our space, where you can listen with ear phones while you play with slime. You’re the only people we’ve ever sent this to!!!
